Classified as a National Monument. The original fortress of the Infant D. Henrique, from the 15th Century, was destroyed during the raids of Sir Francis Drake to the southern coasts of Spain and Portugal during the 16th Century and was rebuilt during the 17th and the 18th Centuries.
Most southwesterly point of Europe. It’s the separation between 2 different coasts: the Atlantic with windswept and the Algarve with warm waters.
