The heart of the city. It was rebuilt after the 1755 earthquake.
The birthplace of ‘Fado’ (Traditional song of Lisbon that UNESCO classified as intangible cultural heritage).
One of the most emblematic monuments of Lisbon and home of royalty for centuries. This military fort was built by the Moors in the 11th century. After that, on October 25th of 1147, was conquered by the first king of Portugal Dom Afonso Henriques.
The launching point for the Portuguese discoveries, with significant historic monuments in a beautiful open riverside setting. Here, you can see the Belém Tower, the Discoveries Monument, and the Jerónimos Monastery.
From 1966 and originally named after the dictator Salazar, this suspension bridge over the Tagus River changed its name as a result of the revolution of April 25, 1974. It has a spectacular view from any direction, a total length of 2278m and the longest center span in Europe (1013m/3323ft). By comparison, although it is very similar to San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge, the 25th April Bridge is longer.
At 110 meters, the statue itself is 28 meters high. The open-armed Christ is facing Lisbon and the arches supporting the statue face in each of the four cardinal directions.
Explicitly deals with contemporary art, while the next-door Power Station is one of Portugal’s most prominent examples of industrial architecture from the beginning of the 20th century.

UNESCO recognised FADO as an intangible cultural heritage in Nov. 2011. Fado, sung in Lisbon, is a symbol of local identity that began in the early 19th century. It is performed by a male or female soloist singer, accompanied by an acoustic guitar and a Portuguese guitar, a pear-shaped twelve-stringed lute. On your boat tour, you can have a “fadista” on board so you can listen to fado while you sail.
