At first, your tour guide will pick you up at the airport and take you on a half-day tour of Lisbon. Then, you’ll pass by some of the oldest neighbourhoods of Lisbon and visit the Commercial Square. It’s one of the largest squares in Europe and for many centuries the main entrance of the city of Lisbon. Currently, it’s is used for cultural events, New year’s Eve and music concerts.
Overnight in: Lisbon
Firstly, you’ll visit the charming village of Sintra, located in a Natural Park with castles and grand mansions used as summer houses by the Portuguese royalty. There, you can visit the Pena Palace, an astonishing fairytale 19th century palace.
After, your afternoon will be spent visiting the emblematic district of Belém, launching point for the Portuguese discoveries. There, you can see the Belém Tower, the Discoveries Monument, visit the church of the Jerónimos Monastery and taste the world-famous custard tarts of Belém.
Lastly, you’ll enjoy the sunset as you sail through the city of Lisbon on board of a sailboat on the river Tagus. During the tour, you will get to know Lisbon from a different perspective.
Overnight in: Lisbon
Discover the typical crafts, the rich gastronomy, the traditions, the aromas and flavours in a unique atmosphere that characterises this region.
First, start by visiting Óbidos, a medieval and one of Portugal’s most interesting walled town. There, you can have a taste of the typical ‘Ginja’.
After, visit Nazaré, Portugal’s most famous fishing village because of the “big wave phenomenon”. It’s where the American surfer Garrett McNamara set a world record in 2011, surfing a 90ft wave.
Finally, you’ll also visit Fátima, Portugal’s religious capital that attracts millions of pilgrims every year.
Overnight in: Tomar
Firstly, start your day in Tomar, with a historic center with the highest concentration of monuments. There, you’ll visit the Convent of Christ, regarded as one of the greatest monastic complex in Europe.
Afterwards, in Coimbra, known as the city of the students, you can visit the oldest university of Europe and its world famous library.
Finally, in Aveiro, considered the Venice of Portugal, you will take a boat trip through the city’s canals before your arrival at Porto.
Overnight in: Porto
During this Oporto tour we will discover the history and charm of the city. At first, you’ll stroll through the narrow streets of the historic center, admiring the blue and white tiles on the city walls. You will visit the most important monuments and the best viewpoints in the city.
Later, you’ll cross the Dom Luis metal bridge to Vila Nova de Gaia. There, you’ll visit the Port wine cellars, an ideal place to end your day with a tasting of the oldest wine in the world! Additionally, you’ll enjoy the fantastic landscapes on board of a typical local boat called ‘Rabelo’.
Overnight in: Porto
Firstly, you’ll visit Braga, the Archbishops’ city, is formerly known as “Bracara Augusta”. It’s the oldest city in Portugal playing a key role in the development of the Roman occupation.
Later, in Guimarães, lose yourself in the streets of the Cinquecentist Guimarães’ centre. Get to know the Castle of Guimarães, considered ‘The First of Portugal’. There, rests the very foundation of the Portuguese nationality and the 18th century Ducal Palace classified as a National Monument.
Also, along the day you’ll have the opportunity to see more of the region of Minho by visiting other iconic landmarks between the two cities.
Overnight in: Douro
Explore one of the most beautiful region of Portugal: The Douro Valley, is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Here, you will find several vineyards planted on the mountains slops and make a panoramic tour to see breathtaking landscapes, visit local wineries and taste the famous Douro wine.
Furthermore, at Pinhão village you will visit the railway station to see the famous 24 tile panels with landscapes of the Douro Region.
Overnight in: Douro
During this tour, you will discover the unique natural beauty of Manteigas. It’s located about 700m above sea level, in the glacial valley of the Serra da Estrela. There, you can visit a Burel Factory.
Then, you’ll visit Seia, on the southwestern slopes of Serra da Estrela. Additionally, you’ll pass by Piodão, a small village with houses made of schist.
Lastly, you will visit Belmonte, a village with a mystical significance in international Sephardic history. Also, with a great connection to Jewish history. There, you can visit: the Castle, the Jewish Museum and Hebrew Tombstone, the BET ELIAHU Synagogue and the Jewish Quarter.
Overnight in: Belmonte
First, start by visiting Monsanto, with origins date back to the Paleolithic period. The village houses are inlaid and built in granite and schist, characteristic stones of the region. It’s also where some House of Dragon’ series episodes were filmed.
Next, visit the village of Ródão with enormous historical importance of geological nature. About 600 million years old. There, can visit the Natural Monument ‘Portas de Ródão’. It’s where the Tagus river runs entrenched among giant quartzite creating a geological formation.
At last, visit Castelo de Vide, built in the 13th century. It’s full of history, traditions, and many other surprises for you.
Overnight in: Marvão
During this tour, start by visiting Marvão, considered one of the most spectacular walled villages in the country. Undoubtly. Set up on the very top of the Serra de São Mamede mountains, it offers splendid views of the region.
Secondly, you’ll visit Elvas, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Elvas’ houses are the World’s largest collection of bulwark fortifications and other military buildings as well as churches and monasteries of unique beauty.
Thirdly, visit Vila Viçosa surrounded by natural beauty, and a hidden gem full of history and cultural interest.
Overnight in: Évora
Firstly, you’ll visit Évora, the Capital of Alto Alentejo. There, you can visit San Francisco’s Church, the Bones Chapel, the Roman Temple of Évora. Get to know more about the wine production with a guided tour in a local winery. Also, you can visit a store and cork factory, considered the most important industry in Portugal.
You can even visit S. Pedro do Corval, an Alentejo small village widely known as the Capital of Pottery.
The beauty and conservation state of the village of Monsaraz are impressive, making it a museum village, unique in the region.
Overnight in: Lisbon
