Situated on the seafront, this medieval chapel was completely rebuilt in the 16th century when it was designated the main parish church.
Partly destroyed by the English in 1536, it remains an architectural example of the beginnings of the Renaissance in the Algarve. The museum contains Roman and medieval archaeological finds as well as several art collections.
